
How to Pre-Sell and Build Courses People Actually Want

Here’s how it works:
- I invite someone who fits my ideal client profile onto a free 60-minute call.
- The first 30 minutes are theirs. They share their biggest challenge, what they’ve tried, and where they’re stuck.
- The next 30 minutes are mine. I give them practical advice they can use straight away.
They get clarity and quick wins. I get priceless insight into how they think, what they need, and how they say it.
Step 2: Record and Transcribe
With their permission, I record the call using Fathom (Zoom also works).
Fathom gives me an instant transcript, which is where the real value starts.
Step 3: Feed It Into AI
I copy the transcript into ChatGPT and ask questions like:
- Summarise the top 3 challenges this person mentioned.
- Highlight exact phrases they used to describe their problem.
- What outcomes were they hoping for?
Within seconds, I’ve got:
- A list of their pain points
- The exact language they use
- A clear picture of the results they want
Step 4: Pre-Sell the Course
Here’s the kicker: that insight doesn’t just give you better copy – it gives you the outline for a course you can sell before you even create it.
You can:
- Use their exact language in your landing page
- Pre-sell the course based on the problems they’ve described
- Double-check demand before you spend weeks building content
That’s double gold. You validate the idea and get paid to create the solution they’ve already told you they need.
Step 5: Build With Confidence
Once you’ve got paying students in, you can shape the content around the very challenges they raised.
You’re not guessing. You’re solving real problems with a course that’s already been bought.
Step 6: Repeat and Build a Library
Every 30-for-30 call adds to your library of insights. Over time, you’ll have:
- A bank of marketing language
- A pool of course ideas
