6 Things Every Great Membership or Community Needs

Before you build your Kajabi Community, read this:

A course is great.

But a course with an engaged, supportive community? That’s where the real transformation happens.

Here are six essential elements we include in every successful Kajabi membership or community build:


1. A Clear Success Path

If people don’t know where they’re going, they won’t stay.

Give them structure. Map out what success looks like inside your community — and guide them step-by-step.

At the front end, they need to see:

  • Where they are now
  • Where they’re heading
  • How you’re going to help them get there

2. A Welcome Experience That Actually Welcomes

The first impression matters.

Don’t drop people into a blank feed. Instead, onboard them with a short intro video, a pinned welcome post, and prompts to get them involved straight away.

People are busy. If there’s no regular value, they’ll drift.

Use a mix of live calls, challenges, Q&A threads, or themed weekly prompts to keep momentum high.

Even a 15-minute “coffee chat” can work wonders. Your members get notified and can pop in for a quick catch-up — no agenda, just connection.


4. Integrated Content + Community

Don’t make your users jump between platforms or dig around for links. If you're on Kajabi, your course and your community can live together under one login, one dashboard, one clean experience.


5. A Real Human Touch

This one’s simple but overlooked: show up.

Even just a quick check-in, a comment reply, or a voice note can make someone feel seen — and more likely to stick around.


6. A Plan for Progression

What happens when someone completes your course or challenge?

Offer the next step: a higher-tier membership, coaching, a 1:1 call, or a new program. Your community should help them move forward — not just hang around.
