Let’s Talk About Automation

It’s one of Kajabi’s strongest features, and one of the most underused.

Or even worse, misused.

Because when automation works, it’s invisible, seamless, and will save you a ton of time.

When it doesn’t?

It creates confusion, extra admin, and frustrated customers. Worse still, customers can actually leave if your automations are misfiring.

So What’s Worth Automating?

  • ✅ Adaptive Email Marketing:
    Send targeted onboarding, nurture, or upsell email sequences when users complete specific actions (course purchase, lesson completion, clicking a specific link).
  • ✅ Dynamic Sales Pipelines:
    Automate the progression from lead capture (via forms or lead magnets) through nurture sequences, offer presentations, and post-purchase upsells or abandoned cart reminders.
  • ✅ Expiry Reminders:
    For limited-time access or trials, set reminders before and after expiry. Stops people falling through the cracks and gives you a natural nudge for upsells.
  • ✅ Automated Course Access & Drip Content:
    Instantly enrol students and release course modules on a set schedule after purchase, with email reminders for new content and deadlines.
  • ✅ Live Session Reminders:
    Set up event registrations in Kajabi, and schedule reminder emails (and calendar links) in one go. It beats manually sending Zoom links every time.
  • ✅ Testimonial Prompts:
    After someone finishes a course or hits a key milestone, ask for feedback. You can automate this with a simple form and a well-timed email.

What Not to Automate

  • ❌ Sales Conversations:
    Keep this human. If someone’s interested in your offer, talk to them. Don’t send them into a drip sequence with no reply option.
  • ❌ Every Little Interaction:
    Too many automations become noise. Focus on the ones that drive clarity, action, or value.
